The taxation practice at Keel Cottrelle LLP focuses on private client cross-border tax matters. In recognition that planning and acting for our clients in today's market often requires an in depth knowledge of both domestic and international tax issues, we have formed relationships with top counsel in Canada, the United States, and abroad. This growing network complements the knowledge developed in-house and allows us to consistently provide our clients with expert advice.
The private client cross-border tax practice serves as a complement to our Wills and Estates group, allowing us to maintain a high level of expertise in the areas of tax law which are of particular concern to our private clients. The taxation practice is unique in that it provides Canadian clients on both sides of the border with comprehensive solutions to their wealth management issues and offers similar support to U.S. persons living in Canada. In this context we advise clients on a wide range of matters including residency, citizenship, and immigration/emigration planning, domestic and international trust planning, retirement and insurance planning, charitable giving, cross-border ownership of real property, estate and trust administration, international tax reporting and compliance issues, and related tax controversy matters. We are licensed to practice in both Canada and the U.S. (New York).
